SOIA & KYO : Keep warm in style SOIA & KYO : Keep warm in style
Whether we like it or not, summer is coming to an end. It's time to say goodbye to overwhelming heat, to put away our sandals and swimsuits... to make room for warm jackets, boots, and coats.
One of the brands whose new collections I am always most excited to see is SOIA & KYO... and I am rarely disappointed! True to form, this year again I am completely charmed by the few styles we have received so far. Here are 3 new arrivals with the reasons why I love them so much.

Last year, SOIA & KYO brought us an improved version of the RILEE leather jacket; an eternal favorite, fashionable yet timeless. This year, the leather jacket that makes us want to walk with attitude while listening to our favorite rock n' roll song is HEIDI. A short, collarless jacket with bold silver zippers that accentuate its rocker look. The horizontal zipper is not just decorative as it allows the peplum hem to be removed. So you get two jackets in one! Because it's made of lambskin, a soft and light leather, it can be worn both indoors and outdoors. We love it!

The BRIHANA jacket definitely has the potential to become your favorite jacket... forever! It is made of a polyester and viscose blend that makes it ultra soft and stretchy. Plus, it has very large pockets to bury your hands or your keys and phone if you use it as an early fall coat. And finally, its large lapel collar is as comfortable as it is charming. Perfect for your layering looks!

The last - but not least - one I'm telling you about here is the SAMIA, which is back to everyone's delight. SAMIA is a mid-length double-faced wool coat, handcrafted. You'll feel like you're wrapped in a big blanket! Its dramatic hood and large draped collar really make it the essential jacket for fall (and even spring!) A removable belt allows it to be worn in 3 different ways - closed in the front, tied in the back, or simply loose, without a belt at all. And what about its almond color... wow!

SuXès Qc - Soia & Kyo SuXès Qc - Soia & Kyo
Since 2004, and since 2010 for men, designers Ilan and Patrick Elfassy have been revitalizing the Montreal winter look by designing unique coats. With a signature marked by authenticity and originality, a young and light style that invariably catches the eye, the company with a purely Montreal identity, located on Chabanel Street, is taking its rightful place. After only three years of existence, Soïa & Kyo designed the best-selling women's coat of the year. Created after the observation that people take care of their outfits, but get rid of their coats as soon as possible, almost out of embarrassment, the intention was to integrate the coat into a sophisticated outfit. According to Ilan, we should all be proud of our coat because it's the first piece of our look that others see! Mr. Elfassy also considers it important to convey an intelligent message and demonstrate environmental awareness, by using ecological materials, such as wool and exclusively synthetic fur, as well as by selling their products in independent boutiques around the world, among other things. There will even soon be recyclable covers given with each coat and customers will also be able to choose to invest with Soïa & Kyo to plant a tree when making online purchases, in order to reduce the ecological footprint of the purchased coat's transport and eventually create an entire forest!
A cleverly studied balance, to the nearest gram, between comforting feathers and down, allowing a detailed silhouette while finally solving the famous warmth versus style debate, comfortable wools, innovative and contemporary cuts, asymmetry and angles of closures, huge buttons and distinctive collars are all testimonies of a passion for fashion shared by the Elfassy family. Soïa & Kyo is indeed the second child of the renowned family, who entered the industry with Mackage in 1989. Unlike its big sister, which focuses on leather and its attitude, Soïa & Kyo focuses on details and on exploring materials, lines and cuts. Contemporary and stylish coats are therefore a family specialty! Just like Mackage, it will eventually be possible to find a Soïa & Kyo ready-to-wear collection for men and women, eagerly awaited! The name Soïa & Kyo, rather peculiar, is a pure invention. According to Ilan Elfassy, Soïa refers to the soybean, a nod to the vegetarian trend, and kyo means "today" in Japanese, a culture for which Ilan has great admiration. Soïa & Kyo therefore symbolizes for him the beginning of a different and current project, distinguishing itself from Mackage.
While waiting to find the best site to open their own boutique, Soïa & Kyo is taking part in the new trend of "Pop Up Shops", like the one in New York, a temporary boutique open for a few months to make their entire collection available to the public. The Elfassy family's goal is to become a major internationally renowned Canadian fashion house, which seems to be off to a very good start. Fashion fans are satisfied, as are celebrities, because Mr. Elfassy ensures control over his production to maintain a certain exclusivity in the designs. Thus, it takes a lot of luck to find a Soïa & Kyo coat after September! It is also possible to spot Quebec personalities such as actress Karine Vanasse, singer Pascale Picard or host Sébastien Diaz, popular Canadian singers Feist and Martha Wainwright, or even the charming American actor Stephen Dorff, in a Soïa & Kyo coat!
Treat yourself to comfortable style for all occasions and go meet the unexpected, by wearing a brand that showcases Montreal creativity!

SuXès Qc - Rudsak SuXès Qc - Rudsak
RUDSAK, A MONTREAL LEADER
The first Rudsak collection was launched in 1994 by designer and artistic director Evik Asatoorian. By founding his own line of coats, shoes and accessories, Mr. Asatoorian, a visionary and avant-garde businessman, succeeded in realizing his dream of expressing his passion for fashion himself, rather than following trends set by others. It is thanks to his very urban, sleek, refined and timeless style, combined with his expertise in using the best Italian leathers, that he was able to conquer the North American and then global leather market. Mr. Christian Jammal, owner of Espace miX miX, recognized Rudsak's enormous potential from its beginnings. The Quebec brand Rudsak is still growing today, with sixteen stores in Quebec and three in Ontario, and in 2010 founded a new women's brand, Rud.
This incredible adventure began with an 18-year-old, Mr. Asatoorian, a buyer for a shoe company, who noticed that the high-end leather clothing niche was very little exploited in Quebec, unlike in Europe. A first collection of twelve leather jackets was then presented in 1994, bringing a European-flavored style to the North American market. The Rudsak concept, a signature look of subtle luxury accessible to the general public, became more defined with the introduction of shoes, accessories and leather handbags into the collection, harmonizing with the coats. The advantage of leather is that it is timeless, improves with age and is multifunctional, which defines the spirit of Rudsak. The first workshop, Rudsak Leather, was located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal, and the first boutique, opened in the late 1990s, on Sainte-Catherine Street. The purpose of this boutique was to publicly establish the Rudsak concept, test the products and allow customers to differentiate them from other leather clothing brands. Self-taught, Mr. Asatoorian had not studied fashion in his early days, but he later completed training at the École nationale de mode du Collège LaSalle. Among other awards, he won the Ariane Prize, awarded by Cégep Marie-Victorin. You are probably wondering where the name Rudsak comes from? Mr. Asatoorian had a dog, Rud, who shared his love for leather, shoes and handbags and who would eagerly chew on every piece of leather she could get her paws on... The "sak" part refers to handbags and comes from the French word "sac." A sure way to remember his faithful companion every day!
Thus, Rudsak's contemporary and minimalist style, reflecting Montreal's multiculturalism, is a guarantee of long-term success. Your coveted leather coat is therefore a quality and timeless purchase, contributing to the global influence of Quebec talent!

SuXès Qc - Matt & Natt SuXès Qc - Matt & Natt

Who are Matt and Nat? Matthew and Nathalie? The answer becomes obvious when we look a little at the history and mandate of this company. Founded in 1995 in Montreal, Matt & Nat draws its essence and inspiration from the MATerials and NATure that surround it. It's clearer now, isn't it?

It's been 15 years since Matt & Nat has lived under the mantra Live beautifully. This means not only living in harmony with nature, but with humanity in general. It's beautiful, isn't it?
It's not just their mission that's appealing; their designs are truly original and frankly pretty. I personally have a crush on the PARABOLE bag, both for its aesthetic appeal and its size. I have it in black and it really complements both a day and evening look.

The materials are healthy and robust, the cuts are original and timeless, but above all, MN bags are practical for everyday life. It's not always easy to combine beauty, quality, and durability, but I've never regretted a Matt&Nat purchase. And let's be honest... their cork collection... MAGNIFICENT!!!
