You might be asking what do these 2 images have in common? A bird…. And a giant wall mural of Leonard Cohen…

The answer - They are both by artist Kevin Ledo from Montreal, Quebec.

Kevin has been making headlines in Montreal with the recently finished 9-storey wall mural of Leonard Cohen on the façade of the Cooper building on boulevard St-Laurent. Spending 10-12 messy hours a day in a crane for more than 3 weeks to finish this colossal monument, he feels honoured to be chosen for this special piece as part of the 5th Montreal Mural international public art festival.

Residents of the Plateau Mont-Royal eagerly documented the progress - social media buzzing with the delight of seeing this building transformed into a beautiful homage to the late Leonard Cohen who had lived nearby.

Born and bred in Montreal, art and painting have always been a way of life for Kevin. A life he now shares with the world. Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, the United States, Mexico, Portugal, Jordan, Brazil, Costa Rica are now meticulously adorned with his spray-painted murals.

Kevin was one of 4 artists interviewed to contribute to our Montreal store. After feeling the vibe of the store, Kevin came up with the idea of the snow bunting, a bird that nests in the far north and whose descent towards the south announces the coming of winter. The birds bring a synergy between Infusio our tea bar and Espace Mix Mix, specialising in outerwear in the Winter months.

Pop into our Montreal store, located at 936 Rachel East, to check out his work… relax in our tea bar… and pick yourself up an item from our wide range of brands from Quebec.
