The arrival of spring is often an euphoric moment; the temperature rises, the sun shines brighter than ever and the sidewalks clear up. We want to enjoy every moment outdoors, but how to dress?! Because yes, it's great that the warmth is back, but there's a long "in-between" period where it's too warm for your winter down jacket, but too cold for your favorite denim jacket. So I thought I'd make a spring version of my blog One dress two looks and present you with two coats and two ways to wear them to get the most out of them :)
For the first coat, I chose the Arabella from Soïa & Kyo. It's a nylon coat with a large hood and a belt. It's not lined, but with a good fleece jacket underneath, it's possible to wear it when it's cooler (by cooler, I mean still above zero!). Also, the (removable) belt helps prevent wind from entering from underneath.

The first outfit is for colder weather. I chose light accessories, it's still spring, we want light! If it's not warm enough yet, you could even opt for a fur vest to put over it, like the Malverne by Rudsak. It's fashionable and cozy!
Scarf: Daisie by Soïa&Kyo - Bag: Minka by Matt&Nat
The second look with the Arabella is much lighter. The coat can be worn open, either without the belt or tied at the back. It's truly an everyday look, easy to wear for work, school, or the grocery store! I love the pop of color brought by the Matt&Nat handbag! I could have opted for a powder blue bag or mint green too... all perfect choices to add some punch to your look!
The second coat I chose is a reversible Point Zéro down jacket (yes, reversible!). That's what charmed me about this jacket; a floral jacket is nice, but having a more sober option in one and the same coat... I love it!
Scarf: luw0448 by Lolë - Bag: Baxter by Matt&Nat
Again, the first outfit is cozier with the massive Lolë infinity scarf. Its comfort is truly incomparable! You could add the matching beanie or mittens for even more warmth. I opted for a large tote bag, perfect for slipping your mittens into when the day warms up!
Bag: Mumbai by Matt&NatWe keep the same coat, but flip it to the other side. We end up with a super summery down jacket with pretty flowers (not too flashy). I paired it with one of my favorites this season, the small Mumbai backpack by Matt&Nat in Koala color. I added light and shiny jewelry for the final touch... It makes me look forward to Spring!!
I am truly a fan of multi-functional/multi-seasonal items. Not only do we get more value for our money, but we are also less likely to get tired of them!

Whether for personal, social or ethical reasons, more and more people are becoming aware of buying local (to our great delight), but also of buying vegan (without any animal products). Not only food can be vegan, fashion can be too! Today, I offer you two local AND vegan winter looks!
My first look is perfect for the active girl. Whether for school or work, your two watchwords are: practical and comfortable. I must start by saying that I was very (pleasantly very) surprised by the comfort of the coat I chose (Point Zero 8618535). I felt like I was in my bed, simply! What's super great about it is that it has a removable lining which, once removed, makes the coat lighter and ideal for mild spring or autumn weather. It is insulated with polyester and not down, but I must say I had to check to be sure, it was so warm and cozy! I completed the look with a large infinity scarf (LOLE law0448, also available in black, navy or khaki – 100% acrylic) which adds punch to the very simple coat. The final touch is the Brave backpack from Matt & Nat in vegan leather and recycled materials.
The second look is also quite simple, but perhaps a little more chic. I opted for a long black LOLE coat (Katie luw0403). I realized after choosing this coat that it is insulated with down and therefore, it is not 100% vegan. However, the fur is synthetic (and removable) and all materials used are either recycled or eco-responsibly treated, which is not to be neglected! I completed the look with a 100% acrylic LOLE scarf (law0438) which has small silver details that go well with the chic look I was going for. The final touch is another Matt & Nat bag (because I really like them!) This time I opted for the Sheenan handbag (available in black or charcoal), for its practical size and original shape. The shoulder strap option is also a big plus!

Comment choisir son sac à main

Y’a beaucoup de clichés concernant une femme et son sac à main. Ils ont beaux ne pas tous être vrai (ou du moins pas pour toutes les femmes), le sac à main reste l’accessoire le plus souvent vu sur une femme. Ce n’est donc pas surprenant que l’offre soit si grande et si diversifiée. Le truc c’est que qui dit beaucoup de choix, dit difficile de choisir! Même avec des restrictions comme « Je la veux rose! », le choix est étourdissant. C’est plus facile quand le choix est esthétique, tsé quand tu as une soirée et veux un sac pour aller avec ta superbe robe à paillettes (que tu ne reporteras surement pas – ni le sac, ni la robe). Mais quand tu veux un sac pour tous les jours, pour aller avec toutes tes humeurs, tous tes vêtements et toutes les températures… C’est un peu moins évident! C’est certain qu’on a toutes des goûts différents, mais je vais quand même faire le tour des essentiels (ou disons très très pratique) à considérer lors de l’achat d’un nouveau sac à main.
Format/taille
De gauche à droite : Scarlett , Hamel et Luna
Du gros sac fourre-tout à la petite pochette de soirée, les formats de sac à main sont infinis. Quand je magasine un nouveau sac, je traîne les choses que je sais d’avance que je vais toujours avoir dans mon sac – étui à lunettes, portefeuille, clé, trousse de beauté, ordinateur, etc. Comme ça je peux tout de suite essayer d’organiser mes choses dedans, voir si la taille du sac me convient et éviter de mauvaises surprises rendue à la maison!
Entretien
Si tu es du genre paresseuse ou juste vraiment occupée, je te conseille d’éviter les matériaux qui nécessite de l’entretien, comme le cuir. Un sac en cuir véritable doit être crémé et protégé contre les expositions à l’eau ou au soleil. C’est un entretien simple et quand même rapide, mais reste que c’est primordial de ne pas oublier de le faire. Sinon, ton cuir pourrait fendre ou décoloré rapidement et on ne veut surtout pas ça!! C'est ce qui a de bien avec les sac Matt & Nat, ils sont tous en cuir végétal et ne nécessitent aucun entretien.
Intérieur (pochettes, etc)
Autant certaines d’entre-nous sont adeptes des sacs fourre-tout et ne font que (tel que le nom l’indique) « fourrer » leurs trucs dans leur sac, n’importe où tant que c’est dans le sac, d’autres par contre (et je fais partie de ce lot), veulent un peu plus de rangement. Quel bonheur que d’avoir un sac avec pleiiiiins de pochettes de rangement à l’intérieur! Une place pour ton ordi, une pour ton cellulaire, une pour tes clés… certains sacs ont même une trousse de beauté intégrée! Woowwww…. J'adore le sac illustré plus haut, avec ses deux pochettes à fermeture éclair en plus d'une autre central qui se ferme avec un bouton pression et qui comporte une autre petite poche pour ton cellulaire. Le paradis de l'organisation!!
Ganses (sac à dos, bandoulière, etc)

Un autre facteur important à considérer quand on se choisi un nouveau sac à main, ce sont les ganses! Personnellement, mon sac à main doit absolument pouvoir se porter en bandoulière. Si aucune ganse n’est assez longue pour me le permettre, c’est non! Plus souvent qu’autrement, les sacs viennent avec une ganse courte intégrée et une plus longue que l’on peut rajouter. C’est l’idéal! Sinon, quelques sacs permettent aussi l’option de le porter en sac à dos, ce qui est aussi un avantage considérable!
Couleur
Finalement, le dernier critère qui est purement esthétique, c’est la couleur! Du noir au blanc, en passant par le rose fuchsia ou le vert menthe, les choix sont infinis. Si vous voulez un sac de tous les jours et que vous voulez en profiter le plus longtemps possible, je vous conseille d’opter pour une couleur plus passe-partout; un jaune serin, par exemple, ne s’agencera pas nécessairement avec tous vos vêtements et ne sera peut-être pas aussi adéquat en hiver. Sans allez obligatoirement vers le noir ou le gris, certaines couleurs sont plus sobres et vieillissent mieux, comme entre-autre le kaki, le bourgogne et le marine.
Alors voilà! Avec tout ça, l'affaire est dans le sac ;)
